If you’re new to the area or considering making Columbia your home, here are three key highlights that perfectly showcase the charm of this Mid-Missouri gem.

March March Parade: Kicking Off the True/False Film Fest

March in Columbia means it’s time for one of the most anticipated events of the year – the March March Parade, set to take place on Friday, February 28th, starting at 5 p.m. This lively and all-ages community event is the perfect way to kick off the True/False Film Fest, one of the city’s most celebrated cultural gatherings.

The parade is not just about watching—it’s about being part of the magic! Everyone is encouraged to dress in vibrant colors, create fun props, and let their imagination run wild. Whether you’re marching as a participant or cheering on from the sidelines, there’s no better way to experience the energy and creativity that Columbia is known for. Expect live music, entertainers, and a sense of community that can’t be matched. The parade will begin at Boone County Courthouse Square and march down 9th St. to the Sculpture Yard outside the Missouri Theatre, where the fun continues.

Pro Tip: This is one of those events where participation is just as much fun as spectating. So, grab your brightest outfit, get creative, and join in on the celebration!
